Bosch Gets Super Cool, Yet Heats Up and Continues Caring for the Environment at K/BIS 2006; Premium Appliance Brand Showcases First-Ever Refrigeration Line and New Ranges; Solidifies Position as Environmental Leader

CHICAGO -- Premium appliance manufacturer Bosch showcases its first-ever refrigeration line at the 2006 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K/BIS), making a complete Bosch kitchen an attainable reality for consumers. The new ENERGY STAR(R) compliant Bosch Evolution(TM) Refrigerators use advanced sensors for optimal temperature control to keep foods as fresh as possible, and are counter-depth, providing a sleek built-in look without the expense.

Bosch also shines the spotlight on its newest collection of professional ranges brimming with advancements. As with its award-winning dishwasher line, the new product structure divides the ranges into two design lines -- the Evolution(TM) Series, consisting of freestanding ranges, and the Integra(TM) Series, consisting of slide-in ranges with a flush-to-counter appearance. Both offer the European styling, high performance and ease-of-use for which Bosch ranges are known. Among the new models are the Integra and Evolution Pro(TM) Range with a full stainless steel exterior for a powerful presence in any kitchen. In addition, the 30" Dual Fuel Convection Range was rated #1 among similar models by a leading consumer publication.

Other new Bosch products featured include an expanded lineup for its award-winning Nexxt(R) laundry system, new ceramic electric cooktops, the Benvenuto(TM) Built-In Fully Automatic Coffee Maker, top-rated Evolution and Integra dishwashers, powerful wall ovens and ventilation. Providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere, fresh-baked cookies straight from Bosch's ovens will be served by the "Bosch Homemaker" every hour in the booth. Also in celebration of the brand's heritage, German beer and cheese will be available to booth visitors the first two days of the show, between 4 and 5 p.m.

"Bosch's position as the fastest growing premium brand is reflected in our showing at K/BIS. We are pleased to complete the Bosch kitchen with the introduction of the Evolution Refrigerator, while firmly establishing our strength in the cooking category with the Evolution and Integra Ranges," said Franz J. Bosshard, president and CEO.

In a continuing demonstration of the brand's commitment to the environment, Bosch will feature a video outlining its recent green efforts and relationships. These include the sponsorship of the National Building Museum's major exhibition, "The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Architecture and Design," and placement in the first LivingHomes(TM) project home, a breakthrough concept in prefabricated sustainable housing. Throughout the show, Bosch will also celebrate Robert Bosch Corporation's 100 years in the U.S. by serving a centennial cake in the booth every hour.

Evolution(TM) Refrigeration

For the first time ever, Bosch offers a refrigeration line -- the Evolution -- allowing consumers to have a complete Bosch kitchen. The counter-depth Evolution Refrigerators have colored sides and hidden hinges, providing a built-in look without the expense. Advanced sensors constantly monitor the climate to provide consistent cooling and control of the defrost cycle, and external temperature controls allow users to adjust the temperature without opening the door, preventing the loss of cool air. The refrigerators offer additional special features such as the SUPERCOOL(TM) and SUPERFREEZE(TM) functions, which cool the interior of the refrigerator or freezer to compensate for warmed up groceries. The Evolution Refrigerator will be available in stainless steel, black, white and the new stainless look beginning in July 2006.

Evolution(TM) and Integra(TM) Ranges

Bosch boldly expands its foray into cooking with its Evolution and Integra Series Ranges. The Evolution line builds on the superior versatility, value and ease-of-use established with the brand's first line of freestanding ranges, while the Integra Series, with its built-in appearance, provides consumers another brilliant option. Both lines offer numerous exclusive features that made the first line of ranges so desirable such as the CLEARTOUCH(TM) glass control panels, Genuine European Convection(TM), POWERSIM(TM) burner system and Touch and Turn(TM) oven controls, and the Integra models have the largest oven capacity in their class (4.6 cu. ft.). New exclusives that take the performance a step further include EXXACTEMP(TM) Oven, a temperature system that monitors the top and bottom elements for superior performance, OPTISIM(TM) burner, and an upgraded 16,000 BTU POWERSIM(TM) burner. The full line of Bosch Evolution Ranges will begin rolling out to the market in the Summer of 2006.

Nexxt(TM) Laundry

Known worldwide for setting industry standards in quality, quietness and energy/water efficiency, Bosch gives consumers more style and performance options with its expanded lineup of the Nexxt(R) Laundry collection. Divided into five class categories, the front-loading Nexxt line still offers consumers the best in efficiency, quietness and capacity. With the lowest sound rating at each price segment and the largest capacity at several price points, the Nexxt laundry line also offers new features such as the KIDSCARE(TM) and XXTRASANITARY(TM) programs to remove tough stains and eliminate 99.99% of the most common household bacteria, and the AQUAGUARD(TM) program to water-proof outerwear. In addition, Nexxt Washers are not just ENERGY STAR(R) compliant, they already meet and exceed 2007 ENERGY STAR(R) standards. In fact, the Bosch Nexxt 100 series is the most energy-efficient full-size washer in the industry.

Ceramic Electric Cooktops

Bosch's new touch control ceramic electric cooktops take the brand's previous lineup of cooktops a step beyond in performance, flexibility and affordability. Divided into three classes, the cooktops offer many industry exclusives such as POWERBOIL(TM), which uses 100% of wattage for faster boil-up, and PRECISIONSIM(TM), offering a wider range of simmering options. The 5 and 6 Series models feature a turn-off timer to reduce overflow, while the 4 Series features a countdown timer. With all of these great features and a 36" touch control electric cooktop priced under $1000, the Bosch cooktops are certain to be a consumer favorite. The cooktops are also available with mechanical controls for customers who prefer the more intuitive turn of a classic knob design. The line will be available beginning in August 2006.
